Clifford Walters

President

Clifford Walters, MD, obtained his MD degree from Loma Linda University. He completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Walters also graduated from the Peter F. Drucker School of Business Management at Claremont Graduate University with his executive MBA degree (Hons). He further obtained his training as an executive coach at the College of Executive Coaching. Dr. Walters is a trusted expert in the field of organizational development and leadership. He is known for his deep, thought-provoking questions that are designed to take a client to a whole new level of performance. He has served as President of the Walters Foundation since its first meeting in 2000.

Randall Unterseher

Vice President

Randall Unterseher is a business executive from Walla Walla, Washington, with 30+ years of sales and marketing experience. He’s worked for both small privately held businesses and publicly traded international companies. In 2004 he received an MBA with an emphasis in e-Business. Currently he is President of Randall and Associates, LLC, a business consulting firm. Using his background in manufacturing, product marketing, sales training and general management, he brings a wealth of experience to the Walters Foundation. He has served as an active board member since 2012. He was elected Vice President of the Walters Foundation at the Semi-Annual Meeting 2019. Currently, he is part of the executive team to develop strategies to grow the Walters Foundation giving capacity. He manages social media, website, and distribution of the foundation’s quarterly newsletter – “The Cutting Edge”.

Tamberly Couch

Secretary / TREASURER

Tamberly Couch completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Oregon. She has work experience in several arenas including owner of an event planning business, substitute teaching and tutoring, business development and fundraising. She was previously the lead purchaser for Macy’s Northwest. Tamberly joined the Walters Foundation in August 2018 where her activities include visiting and assessing nonprofit organizations, attending various events including galas and luncheons and performing her regular board duties. At the Annual Meeting 2021, she was elected as Secretary. She subsequently was elected as Secretary-Treasurer at the Annual Meeting of 2022. She is an active member of the Walters Foundation Executive Committee. Tamberly has lived in the Portland metro area for the past 30 years, and is an active community resident. Tamberly has three married sons, and 5 grandchild. She lives with her husband, LeRon, in Tigard, Oregon.

Wendy olson

Board Member

Wendy Olson brings a background of 30 years as a teacher, sports coach, and administrator in the public school system. She owned and managed a 16-acre nursery. She was married to Jon Olson, a former member of the Walters Foundation Board. Jon worked in the nursery of Glenn and Viola Walters, founders of the Foundation until his passing in 2009. Wendy’s intimate knowledge of the mission of the Founders, at-risk youth in the school system, and now her knowledge of the Portland Metro area as a realtor for RE/MAX suits her well as a great asset to the board and mission of the Foundation.

sue neal

Board Member

Ms. Neal joined the Walters Foundation in February 2022. She completed her nursing degree from the OHSU School of Nursing in 1975 and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management in 2001 from the University of Phoenix. Her background includes more than three decades of focus in pediatric well child, women’s health, community education, occupational health services, management, faith community nursing, community outreach and collaboration. Until her recent retirement, she served as Executive Director for Battle Ground Healthcare, a free clinic and dental care for those in need in the Battle Ground, Washington area. Her husband, Lloyd, is an engineer. They both enjoy outdoor activities. Sue also enjoys cooking and entertaining. Sue brings a wealth of nonprofit experience to the Walters Foundation.

Kimberly takla

Board Member

Kimberly Takla is a 5th generation Oregonian who was born and raised in Pendleton, Oregon. She has resided in the Portland Metro area for the last 38 years.She retired as a Regional Director for a healthcare company to raise her three incredible children with her husband Dr. Victor Takla, MD.

Kimberly has served on several Boards for nonprofits in the area, while also volunteering with Portland Public Schools for over 20 years. She has been involved in The Children’s Cancer Association, Breast Friends just to name a few. Kimberly also enjoys her role in the 112-year organization of the Royal Rosarians. The Rosarians are the Official Ambassadors and Greeters of Goodwill for the City of Portland. Her daughter won the prestigious Miss Oregon Pageant a title she earned in 2022. Kimberly was elected a board member at the Annual Meeting 2024.

KYLE KING

Board Member

For more than 17 years Kyle King has been involved in healthcare administration. In 2020 he became the President of Adventist Health Portland. He has proven to be an exceptional leader at Adventist Health and has earned the respect and trust of his colleagues as well as his associates in their partner organization, Oregon Health & Science University.

Mr. King also sat on the Governor’s Advisory committee during the Covid Crisis. He has served on several State of Oregon and City of Portland committees. He has a strong interest in nonprofit organizations in Oregon, and how they can help those in need. Kyle enjoys extreme sports including parasailing, rock climbing, and surfing. He was elected his board position of the Walters Foundation at the Annual Meeting 2024.

leah hay

Board Member

Leah Hay was elected as a board member of the Walters Foundation at the Semi-Annual Meeting 2025. She has worked for many years in the nonprofit world including significant work as the Community Engagement Officer for the Portland Rescue Mission and its sister organization, the Shepherd’s Door. Her work at the Portland Rescue Mission was recently touted as the “Gold Standard” of nonprofits by Tamberly Couch in The Cutting Edge. Leah is married to Jon Hay. Theygrew up around the Puget Sound area. They have three children andenjoy sailing on the Columbia River.
